Again the man stands alone against the world,
His life twisting and turning before him,
The pain of the past lost tearing at his soul,
And the fears of the future infesting his mind,

He fears for the safety of those who've helped him,
And he prays for the pain of those who've hurt him,
It seems once again the darkness is coming,
Once again, brace for it, grin and bare it...

Though the world is concealed in the darkness of the unknown,
A light luminates in the distance, always and forever,
The man strives to reach this light, with all that he has,
Yet no matter how far he goes, the tunnel always grows...

Such is life, as the wise ones say,
Though fair it is not, there's always a way,
Sometimes you feel broken, but must always go on,
So the man continues along his path...

And the moment comes which will face us all,
The moment of utter defeat, staring at you,
And it's in this moment, of utter nothingness,
That the man finds everything.

Suddenly, a beautiful angel grasps his worn hands,
The angel quickly brings him through the darkness,
It begins to get warm, and the light becomes brighter,
The man has finally found the pathway through the strife,

All this time he's journeyed he shut others out of his life,
For he feared that they may only slow him down,
Yet as he looks at the angel, he sees not one face, but many,
The faces of all those people whom were always there.

They guide him, they protect him,
And with them, his journey becomes complete.
Now it is the man who stands upon the world,
In recognition of the greatness in life.

Never again will he leave those who care behind,
Now it is he who must hold their hands,
He who must guide them through the darkness,
To help them in their journeys, as they helped him,

Though the path is long, the light is dim, and darkness great,
Know that life will always go on,
Keep your eyes open for your angel,
And when life hit's hardest, smile, and continue down the path...
